On a Lighter Note!

I finally finished our TV stand today! I took a six drawer dresser from DI and got creative!  We knocked out the top four drawers, added some beadboard, spray painted the hardware, and with a fresh coat of paint, and glaze it looks like this!!!

I'm so happy with how it turned out! Thanks to my wonderful husband for all his help, and a special thanks to Shawn Moosman for helping with the beadboard!

Heidi

Today was a tough day for us. My family dog of thirteen years passed away, and many tears were shed. My mom noticed that Heidi hadn't been in the front yard lately (her usual spot) and she started to worry. She found her in the travel kennel by our shed, cold and shivering. She had really bad arthritis and we think with the snow storm that came all of a sudden, that it acted up and she wasn't able to climb up the deck steps into her warm little dog house. Poor thing. She couldn't walk, or even lift her head, so my mom carried her into the house. We tried to nurse her back to health but no luck. She was sick and there was nothing we could do for her. During the night she started to throw up and so it was time to call the vet. When we took her in, the vet said Heidi's liver was shutting down. We knew what we had to do but it just broke our hearts. My mom held Heidi while they injected her, and she fell asleep in her arms. At that moment we all (dad, grandma, mom and me) cried like babies. We had just lost a best friend and family member.
This was about an hour before we took her to the vet. Her favorite thing was to sit in the sun, watch cars and people pass by, and wait for us to come home. I think she enjoyed this after being inside all day.

Being carried to the car. Poor thing, she was so sick.
This was the worst, after we sat her down, she looked up at me and my mom like, it's okay. My mom looked at me, started crying and said, "she knows Laur." That's when I lost it.

Saying our goodbyes
After the vet we went and bought a satin pillow and white blanket to bury her in. All the kids were at school and some of us at work, so we waited till the evening to bury her. My poor little sister Kait was heart broken. We all said our favorite memories about Heidi and why we loved her, and of course cried A LOT! Kait said a prayer and we buried our best friend. Super tough day, but so grateful to know that we will be with her again someday! We love you Hoopie!
Last goodbye

Cute cousins! Lexie and Kait held each other and cried. So sad!

Poor Kait

Started to rain so Erin, Meg, and Mom found cover

We'll miss you girl!
