KANAB

Steve's brother Scott came to town from California for a week. It was his birthday the week before and so while he was here we wanted to do something fun. We thought about heading down to St. George but we ended up deciding to go to Kanab. Pat grew up down there and her parents still live there, so we went down to visit them, help with yard work, and PLAY! We left Wednesday night. Steve had school :( so he ended up coming down Thursday night. I headed down with the family and ended up sleeping half the way.
Thursday we did a bunch of yard work for Grandpa and Grandma Crosby. It was nice to help out and work together as a family. It was even better to be in the sunshine! Grandpa had the hose on to loosen up the weeds, and Sadie took full advantage of playing in the water and mud!
I wish I had a picture of the back. My camera died right after I took this, but she was in heaven.
A few hours later, after the boys got back from the dump we all piled in the truck and headed down to the creek. It felt so good to walk in the water, and get stuck in the sand. We found a patch of clay and started to play in it like we were little kids. It started to get dark so we had to head back. I went to Source Code with Pat and Dee and then tried to wait up for Steve to get there. His class was up in Salt Lake and it ended at 7:30 so he had a 5 hour drive ahead of him. I was so happy when he ended up rolling in at 12:15. I thought it would be a lot later! I was grateful he made it!
Friday was a ton of fun. The boys went golfing, and Allison and I took Sadie and Missy to the park. When the boys got home we grabbed a bite to eat and went to peek-a-boo (slot canyon).

When we got there Steve looked out the window and right there on the ground was a rattle snake! The boys threw rocks at it, trying to kill it (to save future hikers of course). Scott threw the final blow and got him right on the head. We hiked up the canyon, and then headed back to the creek to cool off and play in the clay. We built this little fort and sculpted Shrek's face on top of it haha we really felt like little kids and we were covered! It was such a fun get away and so fun to have Scott there with us!

Happy Birthday Scooter!
